Anyone who has seen the movie Field of Dreams has a soft spot for Dyersville, IA. Now the love of the game is becoming something of a bigger deal, as Major League Baseball started construction of a larger version of the film version with seating for up to 8000 people. The idea was to have a Major League game played there in 2020.
Since the advent of COVID-19, there was doubt that the field would not be completed. From the drone footage MLB just put out, it looks like the construction has continued and there is a plan to have it ready for a game in the future. Originally, the first game there was supposed to be the White Sox vs.the Yankees on August 1st. As to the new completion date and first game, it is still up in the air, but as you can see, it is coming along nicely.
