A Ramen Noodle Crisis

By News May 15, 2020 | 8:28 AM

First we had a run on toilet paper, we STILL have a run on cleaning products as well as rice and noodles. Now, we have a new crisis.

As if it wasn’t bad enough that the ramen noodle shelf as been bare already, it doesn’t look like it will be getting filled up anytime soon  The people who make our America’s favorite ramen noodles, Maruchuan have said their factory has been infected with COVID-19. Seven people have tested positive within the company.

At this point, the company is back to making the inexpensive meal, but they had to stop making the noodles for a couple of weeks, as they had to follow the CDC’s guidelines and do a deep clean on the facility.

“Following the discovery of the infections, we conducted a deep cleaning based on CDC guidelines, and we will continue to enforce safety and sanitization precautions above and beyond what has been outlined by the CDC and the health department, and, as of now the plant is in operation…Maruchan will continue to work closely with all involved parties, including the CDC and other agencies to ensure the safety and health of our associates and community, as well as the safety of our products.”

If you are jonesing for the flavor packet noodles, fear not, you can enjoy them soon. Until then, keep hoarding the rice and spaghetti.
