Every year all of the dictionaries update themselves with new words. This year Dictionary.com has decided to add some 15,000 words that we use in our everyday language. Some of them reflect the social changes, health, slang and, yes, COVID-19 relates. The slang terms are the fun words that we have all used and didn’t even think if they were “real” words.
Words like
- GOAT (Greatest of all time)
- Amirite (Am I right?)
- DGAF (Don’t give a f***)
- Jabroni (a dumb person…which has been used for decades in movies depicting Italian culture)
- Sharientng (parents who share too much)
- Techlash (rebelling against technology)
- Switch (the social media platform)
- Zhuzh (making something more interesting)
