Heroes Are The Fabric Of Every Community

I’m not one to do something as a shill for something we are doing at the radio station with Hometown Heroes. But when good deeds happen, the story NEEDS to be told. While the world seems to be spinning out of control this year, just know there are good people out there. This is one of those examples.

Bishop Eusebio Phelps from New Faith Christian Church in Georgia, was doing what many of us do, order food to go. His order was at one of the best greasy spoons in the USA, Waffle House. When the Bishop came to get his food, he noticed the woman, Hannah Hill, helping him was 8 months pregnant. Because she was so nice, the Bishop tipped her $40. Which is pretty cool. It was more than most of us would even think about, but he was definitely “paying it forward”.

But this isn’t where the story ends.

When The Bishop was talking more with Hannah, he learned that the baby was going to be named Samuel. This struck the Bishop, as he and his wife had lost a baby named Samuel, 7 years ago.

When he got home, he told his wife about the woman he met at the Waffle House and they decided that they would try to raise $1000 to help Hannah give the baby a great start to life.

As the Bishop put the story on social media, he quickly raised the $1000…then the number grew quickly to $6500 by the end of the night and he wanted to bring Hannah the money that evening, but she was off for the night. Word got out that Hannah had money waiting for her, but no one could reach her, because she was asleep in her roommate’s car.

The crazy part was that the Bishop was on Facebook Live and the money kept rolling in…to the tune of $12,000.

The money didn’t go to waste, the employees and the donors threw Hannah a surprise baby shower at the Waffle House and presented her with the money that they had raised.

Hannah admitted that she wasn’t a very religious or praying type of person, but she has come to doing a lot of praying lately.

Hannah just bought her first car!!!!
Thanks to everyone that helped make this possible!!!!
To God be The Glory!!!!

God speaks to us in the most unexpected ways….and sometimes things happen for a reason.
