A child was killed in a house fire early Thursday morning in the Gage County community of Blue Springs. The State Fire Marshal says Blue Springs firefighters found a home on fire at 213 West Cherry just before 4:00 a.m. and several injured people.
Investigators say a child was found dead inside the house. A man was transported to CHI Health St. Elizabeth Burn Center in Lincoln with life-threatening injuries. A woman and two children were transported to Beatrice Community Hospital with
non-life threatening injuries.
The Gage County attorney has requested an autopsy. Following a preliminary investigation, State Fire Marshal Investigators have determined the fire is accidental. The investigation is ongoing.
In addition to the Blue Springs Volunteer Fire Department, firefighters from Wymore and Beatrice responded to the fire.
